In this clip from her video workshop, Collage Textures & Techniques, mixed media artist Claudine Hellmuth demonstrates an easy technique for adding texture to collage backgrounds. Claudine manipulates white acrylic paint with an old credit card to create cracks and grooves on her paper then highlights the effect with a light coat of color. The acrylic paint remains flexible when dry, so this technique is perfect for altered books or other projects that might experience bending or repeated handling.
