If you’ve ever struggled to paint complex subject matter … or you’ve avoided a subject because it just seemed too difficult, you’re going to love how Tom shows you different ways you can easily include more complex elements in your paintings.

He’ll help you break down the complex into manageable parts that become much easier to paint. He’ll show you how to combine man-made architectural features with the natural world so your paintings will have a harmonious flow to them.

Thomas is one of today’s best watercolor artists, and you’ll easily learn from him as he shares his best methods and techniques for developing your own voice and then using that voice to tell your stories through your paintings. You’ll learn his entire painting process.

“Everything you need to become an incredible artist is already there inside you, just waiting to be found.”

Tom is a good instructor. He began with the sketch, developing value maps, color and brush selection, and more. The materials he recommends are high-end, but then, he sells his work. His color scheme is unusual, but he makes it look just right.

    BEST TOM´S VIDEO

Really is the best instructional video of Tom Schaller i have seen, and i have seen all.

The most complete and clear of his instructional videos, Not only explain the technical and materials he uses, but the creative and reflexive proces of creation he follow.

I admire his work and I hope the next video could be a most technical and advanced one or a plein air video to complete the information and also a most clear explanation of his use of color complementaries

    Congratulations

    Liked it

This is a very thorough film about the creation of this painting and about Schaller's materials and methods. I enjoyed it a lot, but only gave it four stars because he gets very repetitious with his points. I feel it could have been half as long and just as good. As it is, I may never watch it a second time; too bad.

Excellent video by an incredible watercolor artist !!!

I first discovered Thomas Schaller while wandering around YouTube and I was immediately impressed by his paintings... particularly the contrast between light and dark. His paintings are strikingly beautiful. I then purchased his book of paintings... it is not an instructional book... rather a compilation of his paintings and his background and thoughts about painting. When I got an email recently from Creative Catalyst saying that they were producing and releasing a Thomas Schaller DVD, I had to have it and pre-ordered it as soon as I could. I now have it in my possession and I am delighted. Mr. Schaller is not only a wonderful artist, but he is a great teacher. This DVD covers it all - the inspiration, the planning/composition and design elements..... the drawing.. the materials.... and the process of actually painting. Throughout the process, Mr. Schaller talks about why he is doing what he is doing and how he actually accomplishes what he has set out to do. I am loving every minute of it. I have purchased many art instructional DVDs from Creative Catalyst over the years and they are always top quality. This one is outstanding !!! Thank you......
